Isabel Coman

Isabel is the Director of Engineering and Asset Strategy for Transport for London (TfL) leading all engineering and asset strategy activities across all assets and modes. Since joining TfL, she has been driving major changes to how the organisation approaches its diverse and ageing asset base to secure the best whole-life decisions and enable the delivery of TfL, Mayoral and Government outcomes and priorities.

Previously, Isabel spent 24 years working and rising through the Costain organisation, working on many of the largest and most challenging transport infrastructure projects in the UK. She was the Project Director for the Skanska Costain Strabag JV on HS2 and Costain’s Programme Director on Crossrail.

Isabel is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineers. She sits on the Construction Leadership Council Board with a particular focus on industry productivity and the Infrastructure Client Group Board, where she sponsors the climate task group.
