Infrastructure Partners

Our Infrastructure Partners are key owners, operators and developers of intelligent transport infrastructure in the UK

MAG

MAG is the UK’s largest group of airports, owning and operating London Stansted, East Midlands and Manchester airports. Pre-pandemic the group flew more than 60 million passengers to more than 285 destinations.

Network Rail

We want to make sure our railway is green, resilient to climate change, and able to provide an excellent service for years to come. As well as improving the lives of millions every day, rail has a vital role to play in supporting sustainable economic recovery and growth while also helping Government to meet ambitious zero-carbon targets. We want to put passengers first, help passengers, freight users, and our supply chain to make green choices while supporting local communities and being a good neighbour. We’re already on the journey towards becoming a truly sustainable railway and have published our 30-year environmental sustainability strategy to support our people in achieving our goals.

GBR TT

The Great British Railways Transition Team (GBRTT) seeks to deliver the most ambitious changes to our railways in a generation, working with the government and across the rail sector.

National Highways

We're the government company which plans, designs, builds, operates and maintains England’s motorways and major A roads, known as the strategic road network (SRN). We manage and improve the strategic road network to make journeys safer, smoother and more reliable. Our priorities are safety, customers and delivery.

STB7

Sub-national transport bodies (STBs) fill the gap between national and local projects and provide a regional voice in the planning, prioritisation and delivery of transport investment. England’s seven STBs collectively cover the whole of the country (excluding London) and bring together local highways authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships, National Highways, Network Rail, international gateways such as ports and airports, business interests and the Department for Transport.

British Ports Association

The British Ports Association is the national membership body for ports in the UK. We represent the interests of operators that handle 86% of all UK port traffic, to Westminster and devolved Governments, and other national and international bodies. We are an inclusive and progressive association, open to all and committed to the fair treatment of ports up and down the country. As our membership comprises many ports, terminal operators and port facilities, all of varying size, location and nature, the Association is able to draw upon a wide range of experience and knowledge to represent its members’ interests. We also have a strong network of Associate Members who add much to the value of membership.

East West Rail

In 2018, the Department for Transport created the East West Railway Company to look at plans being developed for a new railway between Oxford and Cambridge. Our job is to consider and challenge these plans with fresh thinking. To do that, we are now responsible for planning the section of East West Rail between Bletchley and Cambridge, while overseeing delivery of the section between Bicester and Bletchley – which is being delivered by the East West Rail Alliance.

Transport for West Midlands

We want the West Midlands to have a world-class transport system. To make this happen, we’re investing £5 billion in nearly 200 transport projects between now and 2026. Our bus, rail and tram projects will help improve public transport. We are also working on transport infrastructure. We want to encourage people to use public transport instead of driving.

Transport for Greater Manchester

Transport for Greater Manchester is a local government body responsible for co-ordinating transport services throughout Greater Manchester in North West England. It is an executive arm of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, the city region's administrative authority.

HS2

HS2 is Great Britain’s new high-speed railway. Once operational, HS2’s British-built bullet trains will provide zero-carbon journeys between the UK’s two largest cities, Birmingham and London, with services continuing on to Manchester, the North West and Scotland using the conventional railway network, cutting journey times. By better connecting Britain’s biggest economic centres and catalysing plans for inner-city regeneration, HS2 will open up opportunities for the creation of thousands of new jobs and homes as well as driving transformative economic growth.

Heathrow Southern Railway

Heathrow Southern Railway (HSR) is a privately financed proposal for Southern Access to Heathrow Airport (SAtH). HSR is all about allowing fast, easy and relaxing access to Heathrow Airport through the construction of up to 8 miles of new railway from the west end of the existing Terminal 5 station, linking with the existing South Western network.
