Ian is Chief Engineer and Director at the Environment Agency, England. A Chartered Civil Engineer and ICE Fellow, he has 35+ years’ experience in infrastructure across flood risk, coastal resilience, and environmental assets. Ian leads the EA’s Technical Authority and oversees 400,000+ assets. He is a NISTA High Risk GMPP Reviewer and collaborates internationally with partners like KRING and I-Storm. Ian chairs the BSI Flood Standards Committee, sits on the UK Government Construction Board, and supports engineering education through Teesside University and ICE.
