Matt is a Technical Director at Amey Consulting and has spent the last 6 years leading the Systems Integration of the Wales & Borders Core Valley Lines Transformation Capital Works Programme. This ground breaking programme is delivering a whole system transformation of the railway to improve its capacity, journey time, accessibility, carbon emissions and extendibility. At its core is a smart electrification solution utilising battery hybrid trains, discontinuous electrification and RFID controls.
Matt began his career in the defence industry focusing on logistics and reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) for land vehicle systems, then moved into rail and transport. For 13 years, he has led systems-based delivery for major rail projects in the UK and abroad, holding various technical, operational, and project management roles.
