Innovation Manager from Colas
Joe is an Innovation Manager for Colas Ltd with 15 years’ experience in the Highways sector. He is an alumnus of the University of Leeds, with a Masters in Sustainability in Transport following his first degree in Economics and Transport.
He is currently working on the CEDR Live Labs programme with Transport for West Midlands, securing funding from DfT and ADEPT and working with a wide range of local authority, private sector and other stakeholders to comprehensively and objectively measure the carbon footprints of materials involved in pothole/patching, surface treatment and surfacing. The purpose here is to stimulate the take-up of the best low carbon materials. Linked to this, Joe is currently leading efforts to source and bring suitable low carbon materials to the UK from the 50 Colas territories and other stakeholders.
